InfluxDB Cold Storage animated explainer video

Rob Astamendi at Diverse Video asked me to design, storyboard, and animate the latest InfluxDB explainer video, “Cold Storage.” Since I’d done quite a few of the prior videos, I was able to jump right in. He added some tweaks / polish to a couple of the scenes at the end of the process.

Typically, 4SP provides some basic storyboards that convey the main concepts and roughly how to represent them. I use this direction as a starting point to figure out how the piece will animate and ultimately look. The design of the gradient overlay look, as well as the opening logo animation pre-date my involvement in the series.
